After our month in Slovenia, we once again hit the road and made our way to Switzerland to see our friend Franz. When we arrived he had it all made up for us - our own apartment! The kitchen had everything and there was a little table and a few air beds for us, with chocolate bunnies tucked under our pillows and chocolate bars in the fridge (all from the Lindor chocolate factory nearby - delicious!),  which was 1000 times better than sleeping in Hotel Daihatsu (our car), in the Swiss Alps, with only one sweater and fleece blanket, beside the highway and a frozen pile of manure.
We met Franz's parents and had a barbecue dinner with Dad by the grill, so he is now known as both
. . .

Mr. Canoe (another story) and Mr. Barbecue! The first night we had sausages and the second night a Swiss specialty, called Raclette, which definitely lives up to the nick-name that I like to call it, the "clogger".
It was delicious - a mini electric grill (or should I call it stove?) was set on the table and each plate had a tiny pan beside it. Cheese was passed around, as well as HOT potatoes, and Walter showed me how to cook the slice of Swiss cheese until it was a goopy pile of glop (if those words are even suitable for this blog), which tasted AMAZING.  I poured them onto . . .the potatoes and practically devoured them! Even when every slice of cheese was gone from one platter, another came with more! I was so stuffed by the time dinner was over I could hardly walk home!
The next night we went over for dinner again and we were still full from the night before! We met Franz's nephews, Patrick and Andreas, who worked as firemen. After the meal we went and passed the disc in a meadow just beyond the garden and Birch and I spent most of the time toppling over each other for the frisbee.
Mom and I went into Zurich one morning to look around and go into several churches. We did so, and Mom got new shoes. There was one church that I didn't like at all - the structure and everything was really ancient but the windows were super modern - stained glass like Picasso, only worse, and some stones that looked great just not with the rest of the church. That was also the day when I came to the conclusion that my two front teeth most likely had cavities. Since all my other molars had been falling out over the trip.  I had to chew with my two front teeth (as I may have mentioned before) and since I had sometimes (or more) skipped brushing my teeth, the four teeth on the bottom row felt like they were getting miniature electric shocks whenever I bit down on something... So that's a lesson for health... Brush your teeth!
We actually expanded our stay in Switzerland for double than what was originally planned and ended up staying for Franz's birthday!
Bye,
Allie

Wow! Switzerland sounds amazing. What do you think of Swiss chocolate? Did you try Belgian chocolate too?
