We arrived in paradise! Thailand is beautiful and the place we're staying at is luxurious. Khun Arree picked us up at the airport and brought us to Mom's friends place. I had been expecting a little beach house by the water and a cook, which Mom had mentioned before. But this was far past that. The 'house' (or should I say mansion) had three floors. Entering onto the top floor the site amazed me. Three huge couches, a big table, tonnes of books and an ocean-view - that's the living-room. To the right of the living-room is the deck with seats and cushions and a room and to the left the outdoor dining-room. The dining-room does have a cover but you still get the breeze. Beside the dining-room there is yet . . .

another lounge and a kitchen with three experienced cooks/house-keepers. We had snacks which consisted of tuna, lettuce and tomato sandwiches and various fresh fruits - pinapple, mango, papaya, apple and pomelo. The pinapple was so good that Dad and Birch tried to ask if it was soaked in coconut and the cooks (being Thai and not speaking english very well) got mixed up and made Birch a coconut to drink. Birch didn't argue and was in fact very pleased. The coconut was very sweet and the flesh was crunchy. I didn't order one because I was too full. After the snack Mom's friend Jennifer arrived from Hong Kong (where they live) with her son, Cameron and her husband, Fergus. Birch and Cameron made good friends right away but I was too tired at that moment. We talked for a short time and went to bed. Down a spiral staircase and onto the second floor was yet another lounge and three guest bedrooms. Mine was on the end and has a private bathroom and shower, with a huge mirror and double bed. I had a good sleep considering it was one in the morning.
I woke up just in time for breakfast and discovered the infinity pool!

Along with that there were multiple sunchairs and a bar with a pack of chocolate milk (!). More bedrooms and a TV room were more hidden behind the stairs. On the very bottom floor was the office/library with books and books and books. Also a desk looking out onto the water and several seats. Jennifer's kids, Morgan (14) and Cameron (12) used to be home-schooled there. Also on the bottom floor were two guest rooms, one of which the home-schooling teacher used to use. Imagine living at a place like this and getting paid to do it! Oh ya, there's also the teaching part, but...
