First of all, HAPPY NEW YEARS! We spent most of today lazing around, but tonight we went on an evening nature walk. We walked along the rice paddies, our guide telling us all about them. One crop lasts 4 months, so they usually have two crops. Lately there hasn't been enough workers, so they're having difficulty farming, so they've retreated to growing coconuts, which you can harvest every 40-45 days, and make quite a profit while you wait for the rice to grow. We got back to the motel by canoe, and sung a song from every nationality that were on the tour; Australian, German, French, Indian (the guide - don't worry, it was organized by the motel manager - he's not fake), and of course, Canadian!
