The next morning at breakfast I discovered the coconuts were delicious along with everything else, bacon, sausages, ham, yoghurt, mini pancakes and fresh fruit made a more than satisfying meal. By the end I was ready to burst. After breakfast we quickly got ready for a boat ride to an island far, far away where we could snorkel. (Isn't 'snorkel' a funny word?) We drove to the other side of Phuket (about half an hour drive) to a marina where they kept their  boat. Fergus left to go sailing and we started on our way. The speed-boat was complete with a cooler, garbage, a cuddy cabin, toilet (rather not get into detail) and a Captain who took care of the boat when Jennifer and her family were away.  We sped along for . . .

about an hour and a half until we reached a beautiful island called Khai Island. The water was a beautiful shade and the sand was pure white. We dove off and snorkeled. It was Mom's first snorkel that trip and she loved it.  Mom and I got up onto Khai Island and looked up into caves where stalactites dripped and dripped. After another hour of snorkeling I started getting hungry and we left to go have lunch. At first there was some debating on where to have lunch. Eventually we decided to go to what they call Rum & Coke Island. It has a little resturant on it and the Island is about as big as a house, so the resturant brings stuff in from the mainland. It was delicious and I loved the pinacoladas.
Birch and I snorkeled while the adults talked and found that the coral wasn't too colourful but the fish were amazing. Some staff started feeding the fish peices of bread and we fed some by hand too. If you floated and stayed still enough curious fish came and checked you out to see if you were another peice of yummy coral. Suddenly storm clouds started to brew and everyone packed into the boat just in time.
A downpour started and didn't end for a very long time. The odd thing was that it was warm rain and in a bathing-suit and towel I wasn't cold. It did hurt your skin and eyes, though, because we were driving into it, and I spent most of the rest of  the boat ride in the cuddy cabin. When we felt the boat lurch to a stop we quickly unloaded and raced to the car. When we got back (I almost called it 'home') we changed into dry clothes and cuddled up on the sofas in the living room. By bedtime the rain had stopped and the air was peaceful.
